• 1/2 lemon, juice only
• 2 garlic cloves crushed
• 1inch piece fresh root ginger, grated
• 1 tsp ground cumin
• 1 tbsp ground coriander
• 1 tsp garam masala
• pinch paprika
• pinch salt
• For the chicken
• 4 x chicken breasts cut in to 3-4cm pieces
• 25g unsalted butter, melted
• For the sauce
• 100g unsalted butter
• 1 onion, grated
• 1inch piece fresh root ginger, grated
• 2 garlic cloves, crushed
• 1 tsp of clove powder
• 4 cardamom pods
• 100g tomato purée
• 2 small red chillies seeds removed
• pinch chilli powder
• 200ml diary free cream
• salt and freshly ground black pepper
