Our Packaging
- All packaging for Koko products is fully recyclable.
- All our boxes and SRPs are made from 100% recycled carboard.
- We’ve introduced tethered caps on our milks for recyclability which is in line with the EU’s latest recycling and packaging legislation.
No Monkey Business

Why are we so nuts for coconuts (do you see what we did there)?

Zero Waste – every part of a coconut is used.
- Husks and shells are used for pesticides; for burning in factory boilers (instead of coal), and creating coir (a sustainable fibre)
- Coconut meat is used for creating delicious milk, cream and desiccated coconut (all the good stuff)
- Coconut water (more good stuff)
- Coconuts are a perennial crop meaning the palms can produce for 60–80 years, reducing the need for frequent replanting compared with annual crops.
- Coconut palms are a low input crop as they are grown with no fertilisers or pesticides, which helps to maximize natural resources, protect wildlife, and enhance soil health.
- The deep and fibrous roots of coconut palms help prevent soil erosion particularly in coastal regions.
- Coconuts themselves are naturally durable and have a long shelf life. The husk and shell protect the meat/water from outside contamination.
- Coconut palms rely on rainwater for irrigation or through planting in peat soils, meaning additional water is not needed in the process. The peat is well managed and undisturbed so it can act as a wider carbon sink.
Our Plantations: Community Impact & Social Investment
Our plantations support foundations that deliver long-term, community-led impact.
- Education:
- Operates and funds a full school
- Runs scholarships and outreach programmes across the coconut ecosystem
- “Smart Boat” Programme: A mobile learning centre delivering books, games, literacy and numeracy education to children living deep within the plantation. The first boat is operational, fully funded, and expanding. Further boats to come following further investment.
- Healthcare: Medical centres providing emergency and routine care
- Farmer Welfare:
- Embankment improvement
- Farm sustainability support
- Women’s social development and family health
- Public Infrastructure: Bridges, piers, and transport access across the canal system to improve mobility and local development
- Sustainable cultivation of sub-optimal land

Our UK Head Office
- Since August 2025, our HQ has been solar powered. Any grid energy we do have to draw down is guaranteed to be from a renewable source.
- We’ve had EV chargers from March 2026.
- Partnered with FareShare for any low dated/unsold stock to ensure it does not go to waste and instead goes to those in need.
- Any food we cannot give away is sent to an anaerobic digestion plant to produce both energy and fertiliser to feed back into the food system.
- Working with Climate Partners to measure our corporate carbon footprint and start to measure the carbon footprint of individual products.
- We’re setting aligned science-based targets for carbon reduction and net zero.
