New Recipe - Orange Tart

 


Oranges are available all year, and this recipe makes a deliciously fresh dessert.

Serves 6

Oven 160C Fan /180C Conventional

You will need:-

Pastry

225g plain flour

pinch of salt

110g  margarine -Stork for pastry in a solid block does not have milk in it

30g caster sugar

2 egg yolks  ( keepwhites)

1tbsp water

Filling

5 fl oz ofFreshly Squeezed Orange Juice

3 Medium Eggs

80g CasterSugar

100ml Koko Dairy Free milk

1tsp cornflour mixed with small amount of Koko Dairy Free milk to make paste

To make:-

Make the pastry in a blender and cool for 30 mins in fridge

Place the filling ingredients in a jug and mix with a whisk to fully combine

Roll out the pastry

Place in oiled 8 inch tart tin

Prick lightly all over and brush with egg whites from pastry

Place on baking tray and cook for 20 mins

Remove from oven and pour in custard mix

Gently place in oven and cook for 25mins - the centre should slightly wobble

Serve hot or cold
